Frequently Asked Questions

At Van Escapes, we believe in adventure and freedom. That’s why we provide a high-quality campervan rental that is designed to elevate your trip. Our van is easy-to-drive and well-equipped, with all the essentials you need for a great time on the road.   • How old do you have to be to hire the campervan?
    Our campervan can be hired if you are over the age of 30 and under the age of 79.
  • What are the collection and drop-off times?
    Collection of the campervan: 3pm to 5pm Drop-off of the campervan: 9am to 11am
  • Is insurance included in the price?
    Motor insurance and breakdown cover is included in the price. You must pay a £1000 security deposit on collection of the vehicle. This will be refunded within 48 hours after the return of the vehicle, if the vehicle is undamaged. You will need to send us pictures of both sides of your driver's licence, and input your details into a secure website where you will be given a code to send to us.
  • How many miles can I do in the campervan?
    160 miles per day are included in the price. If you do more miles than this, you will be charged 20p per mile.
  • Can I hire the campervan if I have points on my licence?
    Contact us if you have points on your licence and we will be able to advise you.
  • Can I bring my dog(s)?
    Please note that, in order to maintain cleanliness and comfort for all our guests, we are only able to accommodate 2 small or 1 medium-sized, well-behaved dogs. Pets must be kept off the upholstery and pet blankets used where necessary.
  • Do you offer a collection/drop off service?
    We can collect you from and drop you off at Malton train station (YO17 9RD) if required. The cost for this service is £40 (round trip).
  • Does the campervan include bedding?
    Bedding is included for 2 people. An additional set of bedding and towels can be hired for £25 (Double Duvet Set/2 Bath & Hand Towels/Tea Towels)
  • What happens if I have an accident?
    Please contact us as soon as you have an accident or there is any damage to the campervan. Please take pictures/videos and send them to us ASAP: info@vanescapes.co.uk On your return, we will get quotes for replacement or repair and send them to you. This, unfortunately, is deducted from your security deposit. If there is more serious damage, we will phone the recovery and get you and the vehicle to safety. We have a full breakdown of our insurance policy in our terms and conditions.
  • Can I leave my car when I collect the campervan?
    Yes, we have 1 car parking space per hire but we cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage whilst it is parked on our premises.
  • Can I smoke/vape in the campervan?
    No smoking (including e-cigarettes) and no preparation of strong smelling foods.
